ADHD therapy for creative professionals in St. Petersburg
ADHD in successful adults rarely looks like the stereotype. For creative professionals it often shows up as brilliant starts and stalled finishes, hyperfocus followed by crashes, time that disappears, and anxiety that fills the gaps. From the outside you look like you have it together. Inside, you’re working twice as hard to keep it that way.
Signs this might be you
You do your best work at the last minute and pay for it in stress
You have more unfinished projects than finished ones
Email, invoices and admin pile up while the creative work gets your attention
You’re successful, but barely holding it together
Anxiety, perfectionism or burnout came along with the ADHD
How we work together
Understanding your ADHD: how your attention, motivation and energy really work
Practical systems: time, planning and follow-through tools built around your creative process
Anxiety and the inner critic: skills to quiet the self-criticism ADHD leaves behind
Work and career: deadlines, clients, leading teams, and running a creative business
I use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I also draw on expressive arts, from my life as a songwriter, and on years of teaching meditation in a secular way. The result is therapy that’s practical, creative, and built around how you actually live and work.
Who I am
I’m Branden Barnett, LMHC. I’ve worked in mental health for more than 20 years, I’ve been licensed for 12, and I teach and run a university psychotherapy program. I’m also a working songwriter, musician and producer, so I know the creative life from the inside.
Diagnosis and medication
I can help whether you’re diagnosed or just wondering. If you’re interested in formal testing or medication, I’ll refer you to trusted local psychologists and prescribers and, with your permission, coordinate with them.
